Workshops For Teens - Shiawassee Arts Center

We are now offering a variety of workshops for teens!(5-8th grade). These workshops are more advanced and detailed than our Thursday afterschool classes. Beginners are welcome as we will review entry level techniques and best practices, but we will also be diving deeper to learn intermediate and advanced methods.

Wednesday afterschool classes run from 4pm – 5:30pm. Classes are $15 for SAC members and $20 for guests.

Workshops For Teens 5th-8th Grades

Wednesdays 4pm – 5:30pm

Student annual memberships are $20

September 18 – Glass Fused Tiles – Using a clear tile as the background for a picture or design on a 6 x 6 inch tile. Tiles will be kiln fired and available for pick up at the next class.

October 2 – Pottery on the Wheel – Learn Functional Pottery throwing or enhance your skills with new challenges. Students will need to sign up for the glazing class to finish pottery pieces.

October 16 – Glazing Pottery – Put the finish on your thrown pottery ware. Pieces will be fired a second time and available for pick up at the next class.

November 6 – Wood Burning and Painting -After using wood burning tools to add your a design on a piece of wood, use paints to embellish and bring it to life.

November 20 – Vinyl Record Art –Painting on vinyl records.

December 11 – Ornament Marbling -Use a variety of techniques to create marbleized ornaments.
