The Shiawassee Arts Center now has art classes for preschool aged children (3-5) and their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, older siblings or caregivers! Arts and craft projects can help develop children’s creativity, problem solving and motor skills, self-expression and self-esteem, and offer fun one-on-one time outside of the house for you and your budding artist. These classes are meant to serve as an introduction to some basic, hands-on art techniques and methods, and have plenty of room for creativity, experimenting and play for all participants.
Each class is $10 for Members/$12 for Guests. Purchase an annual SAC membership for your child ($20) or the entire family ($50) and receive discounts on classes.

Tuesday, June 11 – Play in Clay: Hand Building Hand Bowls – Create a bowl as unique as you and your little one! Bowls will then be fired and require the Glazing Class to be complete.
Tuesday, June 18 – Paint Pour – Let the creativity flow like the paint that is being poured! In this class, budding artists and their caregivers will be creating marbled pieces of art by adding paint swirls and lines to canvas.
Thursday, June 27 – Glazing Workshop – Finish the clay pieces created on June 11. After firing in the kiln, the bowl will need to be glazed then be fired a second time. Available to pick up about ten days after class.
