With a major Capital Improvement Grant from the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs and support from the Cook Family Foundation, many improvements to the Shiawassee Arts Center in 2019 impacting energy efficiency, visitor comfort, presentation and safety were made. Visitors, students, volunteers and staff are benefitting from updates to the heating and cooling system, lighting, plumbing, storage, technology, classroom seating and security.
Several of the improvements enhanced the operating capability of the Arts Center including a new energy efficient furnace, gas water heater, and energy efficient LED light bulbs and dimmers. The money saved with these improvements will be used for programming and community activities including classes and exhibitions.
Many thanks to MCACA, the Cook Family Foundation and our elected officials for their continuing support of the Shiawassee Arts Center.
