FIRST EXHIBIT OF 2015

SAC brings together a wonderfully creative and eclectic group of artists for its first show of 2015. Mark S. Carlson & James Atkinson will combine painting and photography to promote aquatic consciousness, Ruth Egnater will display a unique variety of intricate printmaking techniques, Marti Liddle-Lameti designs beautiful fiber art wearables and wall tapestries and abstract artist, Konstantin Prokos, is known for his big, bright, bold works of art.

IT’S ART A LA CART AT SAC!

Picasso - Cello w heart The public is invited to unleash their creativity at the Shiawassee Arts Center for an Art a la Carte event on Thursday, February 12, 6-8pm. Art a la Carte is not an art class, but an art entertainment experience, allowing everyone the opportunity to try something new in a warm and friendly environment, which is perfect for family and friends and for meeting new people. No experience is necessary --- this painting is for fun!

SAC’s former Cook Family Foundation Fellowship intern, EMMA TOMPKINS (now a SAC Board member) visits and models artist, Marti Liddle-Lameti's beautiful wearable fiber art designs of while viewing photographer, MARK S. CARLSON and Zoologist, JAMES ATKINSON’S Aquatic Consciousness exhibit, RUTH EGNATER’S whimsical print making creations and KONSTANTIN PROKOS’ colorfully bold abstract art.

Our Mission: The purpose of the Shiawassee Arts Council is to sponsor and encourage participation and appreciation of the arts in Shiawassee County and its surrounding area. The council may research, plan, develop and present quality arts and cultural activities that educate, entertain and enhance the quality of life in our community.
