Pedal Back in Time

Cruise through SAC’s free, fun, family exhibit of antique and vintage bicycles, bicycle parts, nostalgic pedal cars and old-time memorabilia from Rick Morris’ collection at his House of Wheels. See how American culture, artistic design, technology, and manufacturing have changed the bicycle over the last century.

Also featured are two replica High Wheel Bicycles courtesy of Bob Dedic and the Shiawassee County Historical Society, Fat Tire memorabilia including a Fat Tire Bicycle courtesy of Main Beverage Company and a whimsical custom made chair made from bicycle carriers courtesy of Gary Edlund.

Bring family and friends, as this exhibit is sure stir up many fond memories.

SAC also has four exciting events planned to compliment the exhibit:

Monday, September 1, 7-9 am—The Arts Center will be open and offering coffee, water, muffins and energy bars during the 11th Annual Owosso & Corunna Footbridge Fitness Walk, which starts next to the Arts Center/Heritage Footbridge.

Friday, September 5, 6-8 pm—Free Public Opening Reception. Join usfor music, refreshments and tour of the exhibit.

Thursday, September 18, 6:30-8:30 pm—Art a la Carte. Call to reserve your seat for a unique themed painting experience with Artist/Instructor, Susan Newcom. Refreshments included. Tickets $25, limited seats available.

Sunday, September 21, 1-4 pm—Bike Scavenger Hunt and Picnic sponsored by LAFCU. Bike around Owosso in search of historic sites, win prizes with a poker run, and join us back at SAC at 2pm for a picnic with hot dogs & root beer floats, prizes, and more fun. Tickets $10, free for children 12 years and under.
