Wendy’s Celebration of Youth Art Month Project—This project will be an exhibit at Wendy’s Restaurant in the months of March & April.  Whimsical Wall hangings. This will be an exciting process, experimenting with a wide array of materials and color to bring it all together!  Canvas, Tempera paint, Polymer clay,  fiber and sparkle!  Sue Newcom & Linda Ruehle, Instructors $20 SAC member/$24 non-member




Spring Break Multi-Media Art Workshops for Tuesday, April 4, Wednesday, April 5 & Thursday,     April 6.  

$24 per day SAC Member or $28 per day non-member – (dress for mess!)

Tuesday, April 4, 1pm – 5pm – Wire with Intention – Grab your wire and Do Something Outrageous!

Bubble wands will be one of the projects.   Wire is charming, delightful and fun!  Recommended for 3rd – 8th Grades


Wednesday, April 5, 1pm – 5pm – Super Hero Collage/Painting. ( Also an Oil Pastel Batik while waiting for painting background to dry) with Madelyn Walters – Grades K-8th welcome




Thursday, April 6, 1pm – 5pm- Food Art Fun! Decorate cupcakes and make owl appetizers & more! Call (989) 723-8354 to register (by April 4 for this class).  Recommended for 3rd – 8th Grades. 



 Special Friday, April 14, “Egg-Citing Easter Beauties” Workshop 1pm – 3pm 

Creative and Fantastic egg dying and decorating of hard boiled eggs.  Our favorite eggs last year, were from using a 100% silk ties. it has to be 100% silk to work 6. Look for one to bring.  Small prints work best. MUST be registered and paid by April 12!

April 27 – Glass Fusing – Celebrate Glass Month creating a fused tile – Linda Ruehle, Instructor

May 4 – Glazing Pottery – Put the finishing color on your fired pottery to be fired again.  Available for pick up in a week.

May 11 – Mother’s Day Printmaking – and Card Making – Learn about monoprints. Using water soluble inks.

Opening Reception at Baker College Student Center Building will be Thursday, March 9, from 5:30pm – 7pm.  Please invite friends, families, co-workers and stop by to view this creative exhibit by our SAC students in Celebration of Youth Art Month, in March!

April 5 – No Home School Class scheduled – See Spring Break workshops scheduled for this day

April 12 – Napkin Basket Weaving with Sue Collins – 1-5pm  *  $22 Member/$24 Non-member (4th through 12th grades)


 April 19 – Woven Place mat with Sue Collins – 1-3:30pm* $17 Member/$20 Non-member  (younger grades and all grades if space permits)

April 26 – Celebrate Glass Month in April – Glass Fused Tiles – Create an original design to be fused in the kiln.  May be hung in the window, on the wall or displayed on an easel.  Linda Ruehle, Instructor

May 3 – Pottery on the Wheel – Learn the basics of using the pottery wheel.  Practice throwing skills while making functional art! Clay is a wonderful, magical, creative material!   Requires Glazing class to finish pieces. Linda Ruehle, Instructor

May 10 – Mother’s Day Printmaking – Create a Monoprint from a bouquet of Tulips.  Also card printing.  Linda Ruehle, Instructor.  (Will need to leave to dry thoroughly and pick up in a few days. Mother’s Day is May 14 – bring a plastic or a large box if you need to take it home wet.)

Last Class – May 17 – Glazing Pottery – Finish pottery created on May 3 or any other pottery from previous classes. Linda Ruehle, Instructor

May 24 – Pottery will be ready to pick up.  Bring a box!
