 Workshops for Scouts, Home School Groups, Church groups & 4-H Clubs can be arranged to earn badges or just for enrichment and fun.  Call the Arts Center at (989) 723-8354.   Dates and times can be arranged

Most Multi-Media Art Classes for K-8th Grades will be held on Thursdays,  After School 4PM-5:30PM, * With the exception of a Two Week Saturday Class on Feb. 3 & 10

 

  $10 Member/$12 Non-member per class (*unless otherwise noted)  Student annual membership $20 or $50 Family Membership        (Pre-registration and payment required)

 January 11 – “Claying Around” – Handbuilding and Sculpture in Clay. Clay provides an interaction between hands, the environment and fire. Linda Ruehle, Instructor. *Requires a Glazing class to finish pieces created in this class.  Linda Ruehle, Instructor

January 18 – Let it Snow! – Watercolor Snowman Scene Painting – Watercolor is a loose, spontaneous and fun medium. Learn some new techniques with Sue Newcom, Instructor

 

January 25 – Recycled Large Cardboard Safari Creatures – (Ages K-3rd Grade should bring a helper along!)

Saturday, February 1 & 8 – Two Week Melted Crayon Batik – This project will be on exhibit at Wendy’s Restaurant for Celebration of Youth Art Month, in March!  *Two week class is $20 for a SAC member or $24 for a non-member.  This will be wildly colorful and a time to experiment with fabric and melted crayon. *$20 Member/$24 Non-member

February 15 –  Pottery on the Wheel – Learn the basics of using the pottery wheel.  Practice throwing skills while making FUNctional art! Clay is a wonderful, magical, creative material!   Requires Glazing class to finish pieces. Linda Ruehle, Instructor
February 22 – TBA – 

March 1 – Glazing Pottery – Put the finish on your clay pieces to be fired a second time and available at the next class. Linda Ruehle, Instructor

Wendy’s Celebration of Youth Art Month Project—This project will be an exhibit at Wendy’s Restaurant in the months of March & April.  Whimsical Wall hangings. This will be an exciting process, experimenting with a wide array of materials and color to bring it all together!  Canvas, Tempera paint, Polymer clay,  fiber and sparkle!  Sue Newcom & Linda Ruehle, Instructors $20 SAC member/$24 non-member

Opening Reception at Baker College Student Center Building will be Thursday, March 9, from 5:30pm – 7pm.  Please invite friends, families, co-workers and stop by to view this creative exhibit by our SAC students in Celebration of Youth Art Month, in March!
