Multi-Media Art Classes for K-8th Grades – Thursdays, After School
$10 Member/$12 Non-member per class (*unless otherwise noted) Student annual membership $20 or $50 Family Membership (Pre-registration and payment required)
September -December Classes will be held on Thursdays 4pm – 5:30pm

October 5 – The Value of Shading – Learn shading styles of Cross Hatching, Blending and Stippling. Gwen Sutton, Instructor
October 26 – Glass Fused Tiles – Create a picture or design with bits of glass that will be fused in the kiln and available for pick up the following week. Linda Ruehle, Instructor.
November 2 – Sizzling Hot Clay House – Calling All Young, Clay Architects – Design and build your house from slabs of clay, working in three dimension. ( Requires glazing class to finish project)
November 9 – Printmaking with Monoprints – A combination of printmaking, painting and drawing mediums, working with water soluble inks. It’s a very magical experience pulling your print! Sue Newcom, Instructor

November 30 – Glazing Pottery – Put the finishing color on your fired pottery to be fired again. Available for pick up the next week.
December 7 – Annual House Creations – How sweet it is! Elevate your creation to a new level with this long time tradition. The little houses make an awesome centerpiece or gift. Please leave your house to share in the Gingerbread Village for Sunday’s Children’s event.
Also Saturday, December 9 – Annual Gingerbread House Creations – 10am -11:30am & 1pm – 2:30pm. Please leave your house to share in the Gingerbread Village for Sunday’s Children’s event. Bring a box on Sunday to bring home your house.
Sunday, December 10 – Annual Children’s Holiday at the Center, 2pm – 4pm. This is a free event for pre-school and elementary ages. Music, art activities, visit by Santa, gingerbread cookie decorating and refreshments.

November 8 & 15 – Clay Mask Making of Your Face – Create a mold of your face in week 1 with plaster gauze strips and week two, push clay into your mold to create a likeness of only you! Please bring a helper to apply strips to your face! If a student does not want plaster gauze on your face, student. Linda Ruehle, Instructor

November 29 – Glazing pottery – Finish pieces created in October and November classes to be fired. Pottery and masks will be ready for pick up at next class.

Wednesday, April 5, 1pm – 5pm – Super Hero Collage/Painting. ( Also an Oil Pastel Batik while waiting for painting background to dry) with Madelyn Walters – Grades K-8th welcome

Wendy’s Celebration of Youth Art Month Project—This project will be an exhibit at Wendy’s Restaurant in the months of March & April. Whimsical Wall hangings. This will be an exciting process, experimenting with a wide array of materials and color to bring it all together! Canvas, Tempera paint, Polymer clay, fiber and sparkle!
