The Shiawassee Arts Center presents the 45th Annual High School Scholarship Competition & Exhibition
Shiawassee Arts Council’s Annual High School Scholarship program is designed to provide recognition and financial assistance to high school art students as a means of helping them in their artistic growth. All students in Shiawassee County, including Ovid and Chesaning, grades 9-12, are encouraged to participate with all types of original artwork accepted. A qualified judge from outside of Shiawassee County will judge based on originality, creativity, technical skill, and presentation and will award $2,000 in scholarships, including the $500 Janis Kazen Award given to a graduating Senior who plans to further their art education at a college or university.
SAC will accept artwork and registrations from area high school students at the Arts Center on Monday, April 24 from 9am-5pm. The exhibit will be open April 26 – April, 28, 12-5pm and April 29, noon-3pm. A public reception and awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 29th from 1-3pm. Students are encouraged to invite friends, family and all school personnel. Art work must be picked up following the reception and awards on Saturday, April 29.
